Donor egg bank and donor egg IVF: Celebrating our success

This information was correct at the time of publishing. It may not reflect our current practices.

Did you know that our donor egg bank in Cheshire was one of the first to be launched in the UK way back in 2012?

It’s grown to become one of the most successful donor egg banks in the UK, with our patients able to choose from an extensive range of egg donors with no waiting list. Our many years of expertise in donor egg IVF has ensured consistent success rates for our patients who use eggs from our donors.

In 2015 almost a third of women who used frozen donated eggs from our egg bank achieved pregnancy, creating many happy families thanks to the generous and special gift from our donors.

As we celebrate our 30th anniversary year, here are some other facts and figures you may not know about our award-winning donor egg programme and donor egg bank:

  • All of our egg donors are from the UK, including many women local to us from Manchester, Cheshire, Liverpool and beyond.
  • There is no waiting list for an egg donor at Manchester Fertility – treatment can start straight away
  • Manchester Fertility egg donors are young, fertile women aged 18-35, who have all passed the strict medical screening to be accepted as an egg donor
  • Manchester Fertility was the first clinic in the UK to achieve a Centre of Excellence accolade from the National Gamete Donation Trust. The award was given in recognition of the highest standards of personal care we give to all of our donors throughout the process
  • All of our egg donors, have received thorough counselling to ensure they understand their role as an identifiable egg donor and what this means
  • All our egg donors complete highly detailed personal profiles with the help of our dedicated Donation Team, so that our patients can choose the right donor for them. Profiles even include a personal goodwill message to the recipient and future child.
  • Patients can opt for treatment through a fresh donor egg IVF cycle or IVF using a frozen donor egg from our egg bank
  • Donors can choose to donate to us in two different ways: altruistically and receive £750 compensation; or via egg-sharing where they receive subsidised IVF for £1,000 in return for sharing half of their own eggs retrieved during their IVF cycle

Women come to Manchester Fertility for treatment using donor eggs for many different reasons. From age-related infertility to existing medical conditions, their only chance of a child is to use healthy eggs donated by another woman.
